Written, recorded, and produced by Jay Stewart, The Electronic Sessions is his first full-length release. The songs are honest and heart-felt, even though none of them contain lyrics. The tracks provide a glimpse into the moods of Stewart's life over the past 5 years. Each track is meant to be open-ended, a soundscape if you will, to allow the listener to connect with parts of their emotions that maybe they didn’t know existed. early reflections is an inspiring introduction into the expanding ambient world of liam skogland (aka (val)liam).
ambient music has always played a humble role in the electronic music scene. high levels of gratitude and respect are given to those producers that have the creativity and patience to evolve a genre plagued with periodicity. skogland is quickly on his way to becoming one of those artists.
begin your adventure with "orange horizon". picture an enchanting sunrise over a calm and secluded lake, on a warm august morning. lush, balmy pads play a familiar role throughout the entire release, creating a strong foundation for new layers of sound to tickle the senses.
the uplifting naturistic moods in "avalon" give the listener an effortless enjoyable experience that carries well into the next few tracks. compelling elements of acoustic + ibanez guitar, heard in "wonder" and "distance", act as a refreshing alternative to the atmospheric leads presented in most of the compositions.
"early reflections", the ep's title track, delivers and sets itself apart from the rest. treat yourself to pulsating kicks and deep synthetic progressions as (val)liam concludes his journey in hypnotic fasion. celebrate dewtone's 6th release, a modest example of yet another young canadian artist breaking out of his musical shell.

Minimal States - Like A Photograph

«Thomas Carter has yet another musical project called Minimal States, where he explores ambient soundscapes based on collected samples and field recordings.
'Like A Photograph' is the first set of a trilogy that Thomas intends to release on test tube.
This first work is heavily based on samples taken from the well known Fm3 Buddha Machine and CC field recordings taken from the Quiet American website. With 15 minutes spent with each piece - 'Circadian Rhythms' and 'Stereopsis' - Minimal States embraces the full spectrum of landscape generative ambient in its true form.

Fabrizio Paterlini - Viandanze (EP)

The EP is the foretaste of the upcoming "Viandanze" full album, which will be released in winter 2009.
Fabrizio Paterlini's music has been defined as ambient, minimalist, graceful, sweet and relaxing: "a glass of red wine on a summer evening", as he himself defines it.
Recentely, he released an EP - "Viandanze" a small preview of the entire full album that will be registered in 2009.
In 2007, on the "Music Center" label, he released his debut CD, "Viaggi in Aeromobile" (Aircraft Trips): a delicate and elegant album that catapults the listener into the intimate world of the artist where he willingly allows himself to be transported by a sound of rare beauty.
Born in Mantua, Fabrizio started playing the piano at the age of 6.
After many years studying classical music, he started perfoming with a number of bands, playing everything from progressive to hard rock, from jazz to pop. It was not until the end of the 90s that he decided to explore new musical paths, concentrating on the piano, the instrument that best expresses his inner world.

Fabrizio Paterlini & March Rosetta - Viandanze Re-imagined

«'Viandanze Re-imagined' is a short EP based on four original piano pieces composed by italian musician Fabrizio Paterlini. March Rosetta a.k.a. Tom Carter - a well known british musician among the netlabels - has teamed up with Fabrizio and worked on top of the original pieces, adding some layers of guitar, bass, e-bow, drums, etc. until the original 'classical' pieces sounded more 'popular' and more atmospheric.
The first piece 'Forever Blue' is the only one voiced by Tom, who has proved himself a very interesting and talented singer, thanks to some previous works signed under the March Rosetta alias. Tom also wrote the lyrics to this song, which is based in a original piano composition by Fabrizio - like the others, called 'Profundo Blu' (taken from the album Viandanze, released by the italian composer and available here). Fabrizio and Tom are both responsible for the final production of this work. Enjoy.» - Pedro Leitão
